~> Visit Enfield Shaker Museum, on Caleb Dyer Lane, near Enfield, where you can get interesting information regarding the history of the Enfield Shaker village, through educational exhibits and programs.

~> Explore the area of downtown Hanover and start taking advantage of the shopping opportunities available.

~> Visit the many historical churches in the area, which include St. Thomas Episcopal Church and the Church of Christ at Dartmouth College.

Sports & outdoor events

The CHaD Hero Half Marathon and Relay takes place every year, in August, and it is one of the most popular sporting events which happen in Hanover, NH, featuring a 3-person relay team run, a one-mile course, a 13-mile run and a 5k walk race. Besides the fact that it is a source of entertainment for visitors, the event is also held in order to raise money, benefiting the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth.

Festivals

New Hampshire is home to many county fairs, and the largest one is known to be the Hopkinton State Fair, in Contoocook.

There are no registered county fairs, festivals or parades in Hanover, NH, but there are plenty going on during the year, in the communities nearby, including the Jefferson Annual Christmas Festival, in Jefferson, NH, the Annual Chowderfest, in Portsmouth, which is the largest and oldest chowder festival in the state, the Annual Master Sand Sculpting Competition, taking place in Hampton Beach, the fun High Hopes Balloon Festival, in Milford, as well as many other fun, family annual celebrations.

Nightlife

Hanover does not have a real nightlife scene going on. However, there are a few cafes, bars and restaurants nearby, where people can relax and converse, while enjoying dinner or a cold glass of beer.

There is the Ramunto's Brick & Brew Pizzeria, on 9 South Street and the Electra Night Club, on 66 Benning Street, West Lebanon, NH, the Jesse's Restaurant & Tavern, on Lebanon Street and a few other small, local places, but besides that, the list of `great nightspots` in Hanover, NH ends here.
